NKBA Set To Open a Bold New Space at High Point Market

Shortly after announcing their partnership with High Point Market Authority, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA)—host for the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show—revealed a new, dedicated presence at High Point Market, which will debut this fall. In conjunction with the launch of NKBA’s space, surfaces brand Cosentino will also debut its showroom experience in Broad Hall.

Located on the first floor of the historic Broad Hall in High Point, North Carolina, NKBA’s design hub will bring together leading bath, appliance, lighting, and indoor/outdoor brands to showcase and inspire designers.

“The new NKBA space at High Point Market embodies the evolution of kitchen and bath into whole-home design,” says Bill Darcy, global president & CEO of NKBA | KBIS. “It’s a dynamic destination for discovering the latest trends—across furnishings, surfaces, appliances, and more—and understanding how the convergence of these elements is shaping a more connected and powerful design industry.”

When the space opens, market attendees will be able to explore participating brand partners, including Sherwin-Williams, Signature Hardware, and Miele. They can also visit the connected outdoor space, which implements Dekton floors and an Urban Bonfire outdoor kitchen.

Designed by Kerrie Kelly, NKBA board member and CEO & creative director of Kerrie Kelly Studio, the forthcoming NKBA space is elegant and welcoming to encourage Market attendees to peruse the space and absorb every detail of the varying products without feeling rushed. The overall look of the space honors High Point’s rich history while reflecting on NKBA’s future commitment to interior design.

“Through layered materials, curated brand collaborations and immersive storytelling, the space invites designers to explore what’s next in luxury design—beyond the kitchen and bath,” Kelly says.

From Oct. 25-29, NKBA and its brand partners will host panels and other curated events in the space. For more details about the fall Market, visit NKBA.

Embody the Power of Nature With This Evocative Collection

A warm bienvenidos to the companies showing at the Interiors from Spain popup at Fulton Market during NeoCon. Swing by the second floor of 950 West Fulton Street to see a range of works, including Khronos, a Rafa Ortega collection for Kriskadecor that ingeniously adds acoustic properties to aluminum chains. The company typically uses metal links to craft custom space dividers, wallcoverings, artful ceiling features, lighting elements, cladding, and the like. Ortega mixes in recycled materials with acoustic properties to create evocative vignettes that balance visual and sonic considerations. The collection’s designs are divided into two groups: Solid (encompassing Metropolis, Rosella, and Boho), inspired by architecture and nature, and Liquid (Mantarraya, Meduses, Peixos), conjuring ebbing currents of water. Experience Nature’s Phenomena Through Pastel Glass Panels

Neuroinclusive design may be the buzz phrase du jour, but its tenets are perennially salient. That’s the impetus behind a new architectural glass collection reflective of leading research linking biophilic imagery to improved mood, attention, and emotional regulation. Murals on Glass features graphic artist and wallcovering/textile designer Jill Malek’s five most popular abstractions of natural phenomena—think Icelandic vistas and the skies of Sedona, Arizona.

The large-scale pastel art-works, available on panels up to 72 by 144 inches, are fabricated in Chicago with extremely tight registration, enabling the image to stretch seamlessly across multiple panels. “Jill’s work has a rhythm to it: It moves, it breathes,” says Skyline design director Darcie Tashey. “In glass, that rhythm interacts with light and space in new ways, adding another layer to how her designs can shape the built environment.” Play with the transparency to add yet more dimension.

Interior Design Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees

Interior Design’s Hall of Fame gala is a time-honored tradition in the A&D industry, bringing together the best of the best to honor exceptional figures who elevate the fields of interior design and architecture. For the 41st Hall of Fame, this year’s black-tie gala, on Dec. 10, 2025, celebrates another milestone: It will be held at the reimagined Waldorf Astoria for the first time since 2016.

Selected by Editor-in-Chief Cindy Allen and a nominating committee of Hall of Fame members, the 2025 honorees are Héctor Esrawe, founder of Esrawe Studio; Pierre-Yves Rochon, founder of Pierre-Yves Rochon (PYR); and Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi, founders and partners of WEISS/MANFREDI Architecture/Landscape/Urbanism. The celebratory evening will also include a special tribute to the Waldorf Astoria to recognize its importance on the Hall of Fame program.

“The Hall of Fame is about honoring those who not only master their craft but expand its possibilities,” Allen says. “This year’s inductees—Héctor, Pierre-Yves, Marion, and Michael—are united by a fearless embrace of cross-disciplinary thinking, cultural resonance, and design excellence. It’s only fitting that we celebrate them in the newly reimagined Waldorf Astoria, itself a global design icon.”

Interior Design’s 41st Hall of Fame gala will feature award-winning documentary films, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a special charitable cause to contribute to a better world.

See what’s next for Interior Design‘s Hall of Fame visionary event with a peek at what we’re planning for the 41st annual gala at the Waldorf Astoria. Discover Hall of Fame details.

Meet Interior Design‘s 2025 Hall of Famers

Héctor Esrawe, Founder of Esrawe Studio

Héctor Esrawe
Héctor Esrawe, Founder of Esrawe Studio.

A prolific interior and furniture designer, architect, academic, and entrepreneur, Héctor Esrawe is truly a multidisciplinary creative. Guided by Mexico’s rich traditions, Esrawe transforms natural materials into sculptural, evocative forms. Since founding his namesake firm in 2003, Esrawe balances deep passion with quality, taking on new challenges in his hospitality, cultural, and residential projects.

Esrawe’s work spans many fields, from furniture and limited-edition pieces, to interiors, architecture, installations in public spaces and museography. His furniture has been exhibited internationally, including at Object Gallery and Ateliers Courbet, and his designs have received awards such as Interior Design’s Best of Year Awards and Azure Awards. He has even been recently named an Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.

Proud of his community and heritage, Esrawe also champions Mexican artisans, designers, and architects, while encouraging collaboration and multidisciplinary interaction. This enthusiasm has led him to co-found EWE Studio, MASA Galería, glass-making collective VISSIO, and Xinu perfumes. At his core, Esrawe’s passion leads him to push boundaries to craft something phenomenal.

Pierre-Yves Rochon, Founder of Pierre-Yves Rochon (PYR)

Just as iconic as the properties he’s designed, Pierre-Yves Rochon has become a legendary name in the luxury interior architecture space. Since founding his Paris-based firm in 1979, Rochon has crafted exceptional environments for restaurants, residences, and hotels around the world—including the redesign of the Waldorf Astoria New York, where Interior Design’s 2025 Hall of Fame gala will be held.

Rochon has offices in Paris and Chicago, while also working as a part of Perkins&Will. Over the past four decades, Rochon’s studio has gone on to craft gastronomic spaces for culinary luminaries like Joël Robuchon, Alain Ducasse, and transform renowned landmarks ranging from The Savoy in London to the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills.

His design philosophy is rooted in blending classicism with modernity, though Rochon also appreciates craftsmanship and bringing out the cultural essence of each locale. His approach transcends trends, embracing a contemporary yet timeless style that sets the global standard for luxury design.

Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi, Founders + Partners, WEISS/MANFREDI

Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi
Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi, Founders + Partners, WEISS/MANFREDI.

Founding partners of New York City design practice WEISS/MANFREDI, Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi are known for their projects seamlessly integrating architecture and landscape. Sustainability and environmental stewardship are important to the firm’s mission. In fact, many of their design efforts have an ecological focus like Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park and La Brea Tar Pits and Museum in Los Angeles.

On top of spearheading various design projects, WEISS/MANFREDI has also received numerous awards and competitions including the 2024 Louis I. Kahn Award in Architecture and the New York AIA Gold Medal. Their work has also been featured in prestigious exhibitions worldwide and is currently in the Library of Congress, and the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.

They’ve also been published multiple times—Princeton Architectural Press has published three monographs of their work while their fifth and most recent monograph Drifting Symmetries: Projects, Provocations, and Other Enduring Models, was published earlier this year by Park Books. At the forefront of architectural design practices, WEISS/MANFREDI is redefining the relationships between architecture, infrastructure, and art.

Waldorf-Astoria New York

For the first time since its closure for restoration, the iconic Waldorf Astoria New York will play host to the Hall of Fame gala. With a grand redesign led by inductee Pierre-Yves Rochon, the redesign honors the grandeur of the original Art Deco-inspired hotel. Guests will get a chance to experience the building’s redesign firsthand as the gala will honor the Waldorf Astoria’s legacy and its importance on Hall of Fame history.

“The Hall of Fame was born at the Waldorf Astoria 41 years ago, and returning after waiting nine long years is like coming home,” Allen says. “The magic, elegance and style, and the unmistakable sense of place that only the Waldorf Astoria creates—is woven into the very fabric of the Hall of Fame.”

Methodology

The Interior Design Giants of Design annual business survey comprises the largest firms ranked by interior design fees for the 12-month period ending Dec. 31, 2024. The listings are generated from only those surveyed. To be recognized as a top 100, Rising, Healthcare, Hospitality, or Sustainability Giant, firms must meet the following criteria: Have at least one office location in North America and generate at least 25 percent of its interior design fee income in North America. Firms that do not meet the criteria are ranked on our International Giants list. Interior design fees include those attributed to:

1. All aspects of a firm’s interior design practice, from strategic planning and programming to design and project management.

2. Fees paid to a firm for work performed by employees and independent contractors who are “full-time staff equivalent.”

Interior design fees do not include revenues paid to a firm and remitted to subcontractors who are not considered full-time staff equivalents. For example, certain firms attract work that is subcontracted to a local firm. The originating firm may collect all the fees and retain a management or generation fee, paying the remainder to the performing firm. The amounts paid to the latter are not included in fees of the collecting firm when determining its ranking. Ties are broken by rank from last year. Where applicable, all percentages are based on responding Giants, not their total number.

All research conducted by ThinkLab, the research division of SANDOW Design Group.

Methodology

The Interior Design Giants annual business survey comprises the largest firms ranked by interior design fees for the 12-month period ending December 31, 2024. The listings are generated from only those surveyed. To be recognized as a top 100, Rising, Healthcare, Hospitality, or Sustainability Giant, firms must meet the following criteria: Have at least one office location in North America, and generate at least 25% of its interior design fee income in North America.

Parador Explores Design Legacy and Global Growth on SURROUND Presents

“Innovation is iterative,” says Neel Bradham, managing director and CEO of Parador. In a recent episode of SURROUND Presents, recorded live at NeoCon 2025, Bradham joins Helene Oberman, managing director of Interior Design, to explore how the German flooring manufacturer is evolving its global presence through design precision, sustainability, and a people-first mindset.

The conversation follows Parador’s recent expansion into the U.S. and its broader efforts to support architects and designers through customizable, environmentally responsive flooring systems. Collections like Modular One, developed in response to demand for non-vinyl resilient materials, and Louvre, shaped by handcrafted detailing and classic European formats, underscore its design-led approach.

Bradham emphasizes the importance of listening to local markets and adapting to regional needs, a theme that runs throughout Parador’s approach to global expansion. “Strategy is set on the street,” he says. “It can come from a salesperson in Berlin or Shanghai or London, or here in Chicago.”

Sustainability is a central thread in the conversation, surfacing as a framework for decision-making that shapes how Parador builds, collaborates, and plans ahead. “You have to believe in where you’re trying to go and what you’re trying to do,” Bradham says. The company reinforces this vision through solar-powered production, compliance with rigorous European third-party certifications, and a reforestation partnership with Plant-for-the-Planet.
